Let's use potential
of nuclear energy
to the maximum

Nuclear power is like an ocean of potential that stretches out before us. It only takes a little to turn this power into light and warmth for all.
Briefly about us

Reasons

Why a new nuclear source

The importance of the new nuclear source for Slovakia

The need for a new nuclear source

The new nuclear power source in the Slovak Republic (SR) is key to ensuring energy security in the field of electricity production. This source will enable Slovakia to meet its obligations in the area of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and ensure a reliable supply of electricity from its own sources.

GDP growth and electricity consumption

In the countries of the European Union, the dependence between gross domestic product and electricity consumption per inhabitant can be clearly seen. GDP growth is expected for Slovakia, which means that it will be necessary to ensure sufficient new sources of electricity.

Importance of renewable resources

Renewable sources of electricity will play a more important role in the future. However, their variable nature of production does not allow covering the basic range of electricity consumption in Slovakia.

New nuclear source and energy security

Without a new nuclear source, Slovakia could face a shortage of electricity production capacity around 2035. The new nuclear power plant in Jaslovské Bohunice will represent a reliable and safe source of electricity, thus contributing to the energy security of the country.
