On 8 October 2026, the ownership structure of Jadrová energetická spoločnosť Slovenska, a. s. (JESS) changed. Jadrová a vyraďovacia spoločnosť, a. s. (JAVYS), which is wholly owned by the Slovak state, became the sole shareholder of JESS.
The change in ownership structure represents a significant milestone in the company’s future development. The preparation of the New Nuclear Power Plant (NNPP) project at the Jaslovské Bohunice site remains JESS’s main priority.
As part of the project preparation, JESS is focusing on permitting processes and all related technical and professional activities. At the same time, the company is cooperating with the relevant authorities and other stakeholders to ensure the project’s continued progress.
The change in ownership structure does not alter the company’s core mission or the strategic importance of the NNPP Project for the future of Slovakia’s energy sector. The NNPP at Jaslovské Bohunice represents an important step towards strengthening Slovakia’s energy security and ensuring a stable electricity supply.
